Levee Singers' 50 Anniversary
Our Levee Singers began at the Levee in March, 1961. This year marks the 50th Anniversary
of that beginning. In the early years, they appeared on the top 4 music variety shows on national TV, in Reno and Las
Vegas and on countless private shows throughout the country.
The group has, in early April, concluded a tremendously
successful series of nine "50th Anniversary Concerts" at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre on Mockingbird Lane.
Their long-time friend, Dallas legendary radio personality and 2010 inductee into the National Assn of Broadcasters Hall of
Fame, Ron Chapman, helped in so many ways to make the "Every-Night-Sold-Out" concert series the
great fun that it was. In the weeks leading up to the series, he was on just about every media outlet in our area...talking
about the Levee Singers and encouraging audiences to come to the Pocket on one of the nights to have the time of
their lives. Those who tried to make reservations and couldn't get in are reminded to come to the next regular, monthly
appearance at the Pocket...Tuesday, May 31. Call 214-821-1860 for reservations.
What a FUN time was had by
all...there's just nothing quite like the excitement generated by the 4 members of the Levee Singers!

Dallas' Crystal Charity Ball does it again!
Once again, the Crystal Charity Ball...Dallas' (quite possibly the world's) largest and
most elegant social event...came off without a hitch and was a tremendous success last Saturday night at the Hilton Anatole
Hotel.
Once again, I had the opportunity to help coordinate and direct the entertainment. Tom
Addis, producer of the event, did his usual superb job in planning and executing what has to be the most beautifully
decorated venue for such an event in the entire world! The "Japanese" theme was carried out througout the
ballroom and the lobby area in the most stunningly beautiful array of flowers, lighting and color themes imaginable.
Densil Adams' "Japanese" dancers, backed by the wonderful James Davis Orchestra, playing authentic Japanese music,
wowed the crowd as they were entering the ballroom. Davis then played perfect dinner and dance music until 11PM, when
the Larry T-Byrd Gordon Orchestra took over for the late night party music! And what a FUN party it was!
2010 Ball Chair, Cynthia Mitchell, presided over another GREAT Crystal Charity Ball!

Grandson Chap Bernet back from NY!
Grandson Chap, after having spent 6 months in
NY, part of which was at NYU taking a Summer course in Recording and Music Engineering, part of which was learning the restaurant
business from the ground up at Del Frisco's, across from Rockefeller Center, (one of the highest grossing restaurants
in the world), part of which was gaining more great experience in writing/performing/recording...is home!! His time there
was so rewarding and "life-changing". A 19 yr old in New York, learning about life in the Big City...what
a blessing!!
His next important date is at Poor David's Pub in Dallas on Thu, Dec 23rd. He'll be joined by
Rocky Powell on guitar...and by his Dad, Brant, and Uncle Blake and his proud grandfather!! We're looking forward to
a GREAT evening of fun and music!

Wynonna did a great job!
I had the pleasure of being asked to book Wynonna Judd for a private party here
in Dallas a few nights ago. She and her mother have embarked on their 2010 Tour, beginning last Friday, Nov 26th, in
Green Bay. They and their band and tech people had spent about a week prior to Thanksgiving in Green Bay rehearsing
for their tour. We were fortunate to be able to get Wynonna and a small backup group on the night before Thanksgiving.
The in's and out's of making all the arrangements so close to the holiday was mind-boggling. However, all worked very
smoothly, she and her group did a bang-up job after getting to Love Field about 4:45, to the Dallas venue at about 5:15, doing
their sound check, eating a bit, putting on her show about 9:15 (the guests LOVED her), getting back on their jet at Love
Field and flying back to Green Bay...for Thanksgiving! Wynonna and everyone with her were wonderful to work with.
It was a great night!
